The National Documentation Centre (EKT) (www.ekt.gr) provides documentation, information and support services on science, research and technology issues to the research, business, government and wider community. EKT was founded in 1980 as a National Infrastructure and is part of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF). It is supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology. Enabled by highly qualified staff and a robust and constantly evolving information infrastructure, EKT is a modern Science and Technology information hub with a sharp focus on: Providing advanced S&T information services to diverse audiences by means of its digital library, open access scholarly communication infrastructures -comprising institutional and subject repositories, journals, e-books-, the National Archive of Ph.D. Theses, its electronic and print newsletter, specialized websites; documenting and promoting Greek scientific and cultural content; supporting the automation and networking of libraries, archives and museums through state-of-the-art software tools; stimulating and supporting the participation of Greek organizations in competitive European research programmes; disseminating research results and innovative technologies to the market.
